Every once in a while, we dream of starting fresh in a new city. Luckily, there are several places across the U.S. attracting new residents with cash incentives.

These cities offer programs that provide housing assistance and other benefits to incoming residents to boost the local population and economy.

Let’s explore these five places where one can move and gain incentives:

1. Tulsa, Oklahoma

Tulsa's "Tulsa Remote" program is quite generous. If you're working remotely, consider moving to Tulsa within the next 12 months and you might get up to $10,000.

To qualify, you need to be 18 or older, have a full-time remote job or be self-employed outside of Oklahoma, and be eligible to work in the U.S. Plus, they'll help with house rental or purchase, and even throw in a coworking space membership for three years.

2. Florence and Sheffield, Alabama

Next up are the twin cities of Florence and Sheffield in Alabama, which are part of a program called "Remote Shoals." This initiative offers up to $10,000 for new residents who earn at least $52,000 per year.

To qualify, you’ll need to be working remotely or self-employed outside Colbert and Lauderdale counties, plan to move within six months, and be over 18.

3. Newton, Iowa

Newton beckons new residents with a promise up to $10,000 if you buy a house costing at least $190,000.

To be eligible, your new house must be your primary residence, fully constructed (as shown by a city-issued occupancy certificate), and equipped with a radon reduction system. Note, rental properties do not qualify for this incentive.

4. Topeka, Kansas

Over in Kansas, Topeka’s "Choose Topeka" program offers incentives of up to $15,000 for new residents who secure a full-time job in the area and buy or rent a home there within a year of moving.

Applicants need to complete a survey and join an immersion program after a year.

5. Northwest Arkansas

Lastly, Northwest Arkansas is willing to pay new residents up to $10,000 through its "Life Works Here" program, particularly aimed at young professionals under 24 years of age who get a full-time job in vibrant cities like Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville.

The goal here is to add more vibrancy and growth to their communities.
